Entanglement and many-body effects in collective neutrino oscillations

Collective neutrino oscillations play a crucial role in transporting lepton flavor astrophysical settings, such as supernovae, where the density is large. In this regime, neutrino-neutrino interactions are important and simulations mean-field approximation show evidence for collective occurring at time scales much larger than those associated with vacuum oscillations. work, we study out-of-equilibrium dynamics of corresponding spin model using Matrix Product States how bipolar can be triggered by many-body correlations if appropriate initial conditions present. We find entanglement entropies scaling most logarithmically system size suggesting that classical tensor network methods could efficient describing more generally. These observation provide clear path forward, not only to increase accuracy current simulations, but also elucidate mechanism behind without resorting mean field approximation.
